Position: Chairman and CEO
Simon Village was formerly a Managing Director, World Gold Council, and principal of Exchange Traded Gold, a company responsible for developing and managing a series of direct physical gold investment products that have revolutionised the dynamics of the gold industry. Previous to this he was a Managing Director with HSBC responsible for Global Mining based out of London, Head of HSBC's South African Securities business and a Mining Engineer with Anglo American/De Beers. Simon holds a B.Eng (Hons) degree from Camborne School of Mines, and brings some 20 years of gold industry and investment experience to the Company.

Position: Director, Executive VP
Banro's principal founder, Arnold has been involved in corporate finance activities for over 20 years. He is also President and Managing Director of Sterling Portfolio Securities Inc., a private venture capital firm based in Toronto.

Position: Director
Peter Cowley is a geologist with 40 years international experience in the minerals industry, mainly in Africa. He holds M.Sc and M.B.A. degrees and is a Fellow of I.M.M.M. Peter is President & CEO of Loncor Resources Inc. He was President of Banro from June 2004 to March 2008, and also the CEO of the Company until September 2007. Prior to joining Banro, Peter was Managing Director of Ashanti Exploration, where he played a major role in the discovery and development of the Geita mine in Tanzania. Peter is also a director of Cluff Gold plc.

Position: Director
John is a non-executive director of Mediterranean Resources Ltd. and Great Quest Metals Ltd. Most recently, he held the positions of Director, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nevsun Resources, an exploration and development company engaged in gold and base metals exploration in Africa. Prior to joining Nevsun in 1997, Dr. Clarke was an Executive Director of Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited of Ghana, where he helped establish Ashanti's gold exploration program throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Clarke holds a Ph.D. in metallurgy from Cambridge University and M.B.A. from the University of Middlesex.

Position: Director
Bernard has been a director of Banro since 1996 and has over 40 years experience in the mining industry, mainly in Africa. He is also a director of Mvelaphanda Resources Limited, Ndowana Exploration (Pty) Limited, Northam Platinum Limited and Trans Hex Group Limited. Bernard also serves on the Executive Committees of the Dwaalkop and Pandora Platinum Joint Ventures.

Position: Director
Peter is President and CEO of Gentor Resources Inc, a non-executive Director of Platmin and non-executive Chairman of GGG Resources plc. He worked with Billiton Australia for 11 years, where he served as Regional Exploration Manager: Northern Territory and played a key role in the discovery of the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in Australia. As a fund manager, Peter served as a partner with Actis Capital LLP, focusing on Africa and Emerging Markets. Peter holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) and Ph.D in Geology from the University of Leeds and an MBA from the Institute for Financial Management.

Position: Director
Richard is a partner in the Canadian law firm of Macleod Dixon LLP which acts as counsel to Banro. He specializes in corporate and securities law and is chair of Macleod Dixon's Global Mining Group.
